In the heart of Sandy Springs, where neighborhood charm meets elevated dining, Nowak’s has carved out its own identity — bold, inviting, and unmistakably soulful. Founded by Blaiss Nowak, the restaurant is known for its classic American steakhouse fare delivered with an edge of modern hospitality. Steaks are hand-cut, cocktails are crafted with precision, and regulars are treated like family. For Blaiss, Nowak’s isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a reflection of his passion for great food, great service, and great people.
“It’s about more than just a meal,” says Blaiss. “We want every guest to feel like they’ve walked into something special — whether they’re coming in for date night, a business dinner, or to unwind at the bar.”
Humble Beginnings, Bold Execution
Blaiss Nowak is no stranger to Atlanta’s restaurant scene. A second-generation restaurateur, he cut his teeth in kitchens across the Southeast before launching his own concept in Virginia-Highland in 2016. In 2021, Nowak’s expanded to Sandy Springs, bringing with it the same dedication to quality and community. The new location quickly became a destination for steak lovers, bourbon enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates a top-tier dining experience without the pretense.
At Nowak’s, the centerpiece is the meat: USDA Prime steaks, dry-aged in-house, grilled to perfection. But the supporting cast — fresh seafood, signature sauces, and crave-worthy sides — helps elevate each plate. The wine list is thoughtful, the whiskey selection is vast, and the staff knows how to make first timers feel like regulars.
A Taste That Rocks
Nowak’s made its debut at Food That Rocks just weeks before officially opening to the public in 2023 — and they made an immediate impression. Their signature filet mignon bites wowed the crowd and judges alike, earning them the coveted Best Taste Award at Sandy Springs’ premier culinary celebration hosted by Taste of Atlanta.
The event returns on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at City Green at City Springs, and Nowak’s is ready to impress once again.
“Blaiss and the Nowak’s team have become a standout part of Food That Rocks,” says Dale DeSena, founder of Taste of Atlanta. “They’re fan favorites for a reason — everything they do is full of flavor and heart.”
For Blaiss Nowak, the event is more than a tasting.
“It’s such a great night,” he says. “You’re surrounded by amazing restaurants, great energy, live music — and you get to share what you love with hundreds of people.”
Food That Rocks is more than a showcase — it’s a celebration of Sandy Springs’ vibrant culinary scene, and Nowak’s is proud to play a starring role. The restaurant’s filet mignon one Best Taste in 2022 and their marinated shrimp won Best Taste in 2023.
Looking Ahead
With strong roots in Atlanta’s dining landscape and a growing presence in Sandy Springs, Nowak’s shows no signs of slowing down. Blaiss continues to innovate while staying true to the steakhouse tradition — a balance that keeps the restaurant both timeless and fresh.
Whether you’re stopping in for a filet and an Old Fashioned or catching Nowak’s at Food That Rocks this June, one thing is certain: Blaiss Nowak is building more than a restaurant. He’s creating a legacy — one steak at a time.
