
In late January, the James Beard Foundation released its list of semi-finalists for the awards, which named several Georgia restaurants from Atlanta and Athens.
Since then, the list has narrowed to just one Georgia finalist for the Best Chef in the Southeast category: Parnass Savang and Rod Lassiter of Talat Market.
This is the pair’s first recognition as James Beard Finalists although Savang received semifinalist recognition in 2018 for the Rising Star Chef of the Year category. Talat Market was also recently recognized by Atlanta’s inaugural Michelin ceremony in 2023. Finalists in the 2024 restaurant and chef categories will be announced on April 3 and winners will be announced at a ceremony in Chicago on June 10.
