If there’s one thing the restaurant industry has proven time and again, it’s that it’s a place where anyone can start at the bottom and work their way up to success.
Over the past few years, it’s also increasingly becoming a space that is more inclusive and caring, where the people who work in the restaurant matter as much as the food that is served. This year’s seven Rising Stars certainly reflect that cultural shift.
The Rising Stars program recognizes those unsung heroes at restaurants around Georgia. Those who don’t just clock in and do the work, but go above and beyond expectations in their jobs. They’re fostering creativity, encouraging innovation and focusing on the well-being of those around them. Whether in the kitchen, on the floor or in the corporate office, they’re always looking for ways to create a better restaurant community and move the industry forward.
Each year, those in the state’s hospitality industry are invited to submit nominations for who they believe should be a Rising Star. The final selections are then determined by the Restaurant Informer editorial staff in partnership with the Georgia Restaurant Association.
Since the program first launched in 2017, we’ve recognized more than 50 people who are making a difference in the restaurant world. But it gets harder every year to select just a few to highlight from the many deserving nominations.
This year’s group of Rising Stars show that there’s many ways you can create a career in hospitality. From rising through the ranks in the kitchen and honing your management skills to creating successful marketing campaigns and even building your own concept, there is a place here for everyone to grow.
