Lapeer Steak and Seafood in Alpharetta welcomes Justin McAlpine as its new executive chef. McAlpine started in the culinary field at a young age and his talent and work has been recognized by the industry.
While he was still in high school, McAlpine worked with four-time James Beard award-winning chef, Frank Stitt, at Bottega in Birmingham. After high school, McAlpine received a full scholarship to Jefferson State Culinary Insitute for his essay, “For The Love of Cooking.”
Post studies, McAlpine worked as a test kitchen developer for Southern Living magazine before moving to Atlanta where he led the kitchen at establishments like King + Duke. McAlpine also served as a private chef for Personal Chefs of Atlanta and participated in and won the Food Network’s hit series Supermarket Stakeout.
Now, McAlpine helms the kitchen at Lapeer Steak and Seafood, taking over the role of the previous executive chef, Blake Hartley.
