Since the beginning of the pandemic, many restaurants have had to pivot to stay afloat and keep customers satisfied. To keep up productivity and combat another possible shut down, restaurateurs Dr. Jae Choi of Yakitori Jinbei and Ricky Wahlia and Robby Gulri of Masti now offer takeout and delivery options.
Yakitori Jinbei, the casual restaurant in Smyrna serving Korean cuisine with a Japanese twist, is now offering an at-home Omakase experience featuring a selection of sushi, sashimi and nigiri to-go. Translating to “I’ll leave it up to you” in Japanese, omakase is a phrase used to order a meal of the chef’s choosing.

Chef and Owner Dr. Jae Choi enlisted the help of Joseph Kwon and Shuma Kuwamoto to create an option for guests to experience his cuisine during the pandemic. The at-home Omakase experience includes chef’s choice of sushi roll, 6 pieces of nigiri and sashimi sampler, and is served in a take-home Bento-style box.
Late last year, the restaurant’s sushi menu was revamped to include high-quality, fresh fish imported from Japan and ingredients like bluefin tuna, caviar, uni and A5 wagyu, among others. The entire menu is available for dine-in, online ordering and delivery, and the restaurant is following stringent COVID protocols, including the installation of a Synexis Dry Hydrogen Peroxide system.

Similarly, Wahlia and Gulri of the Masti locations in Atlanta and Duluth have launched their own meal service, MastiEats. Together, the cousins have enhanced and repackaged Masti meals such as Paneer Dogs, Hakka Noodles, Masti Masala Pasts and Aloo Tikki Burgers to be easily reheated and enjoyed throughout the week.
“We understand that our customers lead busy lives and don’t want to devote time that could be spent with family preparing every meal. They’re also eager to enjoy unique dishes that they wouldn’t necessarily prepare for themselves,” noted Wahlia. “With MastiEats, we’re not only providing safe, contactless, meal delivery and freeing up time spent cooking for other activities, but also a unique dining experience where new styles of cooking can be enjoyed at home.”
“MastiEats not only has a menu to meet a variety of tastes and dietary restrictions but also allows for customers to leave instructions for drivers and set up a weekly delivery option,” shared Gulri. “We’ve created a process to make meal deliveries as simple, safe and environmentally friendly as possible.”
